Richard Mofe-Damijo (born 6 July 1961), better known as RMD, is a Nigerian actor and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State. His career in Nollywood began in the late 1990s. Richard Mofe-Damijo hails from Aladja community of Udu Kingdom, Delta State. Growing up in his hometown, he attended Midwest College in Warri and then on to Anglican Grammar School where he was a member of the Drama Club.
After secondary school, RMD gained admission into the University of Benin to study Theatre Arts. He decided to pursue a degree in Law at the University of Lagos in 1997 and graduated in 2004.
The veteran actor is regarded as Nigeria’s hottest grandpa not only for his good looks but also for his poise and charisma. He is currently the CEO of RMD Production Limited which produces the drama series, The Mr. X Family Show.
RMD juggled between his studies and acting career, while he pursued a degree in Law. Between 1997 and 1999, he featured as one of the lead actors in films like Hostages, Scores to Settle, Diamond Ring, Freedom, and Out of Bounds – the first film he wrote and produced.
Mofe-Damijo started his career as a reporter with Concord Newspapers and Metro Magazine before he joined the Nigerian movie industry with his first role in the television soap opera β€œRipples”.
He has also starred in more than a 100 nollywood movies notably; Hostages, Out Of Bounds, Scores to settle, Diamond Ring, The Messenger, and Wedding Party as stated earlier.
